My name is Tessa Mugenya and I am 19 years old. I'm from Nairobi, Kenya. I go to Carthage College in Kenosha and although I’m currently undecided, I am thinking of studying Geospatial Science, with a focus on Geoscience.

I think that African teens have a very unique style that is fresh and ever evolving. With the influence of social media and the world being a global village, I am certain that African teens are on the verge of dominating the fashion world.

From models to designers to makeup artists to hairstylists and photographers, what can’t we do? The world needs to realize that African teens have something that nobody else can bring to the table, and thus should be encouraged and granted equal opportunities in the fashion world.
