"Meet Our Brand New Ambassador Koketso Machaka"

Meet Koketso Machaka, the beauty from South Africa and AfricaTeenVogue latest Ambassador.

My name is koketso Machaka I'm  20 years old originally from South Africa Limpopo. I grew up inspiring myself that nothing comes easy and i noticed that girls love easy things. Growing up with this mentality made me work harder even though i haven't reached my goals as yet but i'm 100% sure soon I'll be there.

I started working as a waitress by the age of 16/17 years old then involved myself to in stores promotions by the age of 18 years so that i can save money for registration for school and so i can be able to buy clothes. when i turned 19 years i had passion  to be on media i will try to go for auditions nothing came up then decided to go back to school to study journalism, little did i know i enjoyed my career, I started involving myself in work shadowing journalists.

It helped me because it taught me a lot and made realize that definitely i enjoy this career.
I applied to be a writer in a local newspaper company and i was given a chance to do so and it opened a lot of opportunities for me, even though i'm still working myself up.

The main purpose about this story is that don't give up African child its not going to be easy just hang in the pain pays at the end of the day.

The apps on my phone are arranged from darker colours to lighter colours. I am studying to become an Engineer InshaAllah.  I have six younger siblings I hate when things don’t go my way and i like being in control. I try my best to be nice to everyone I also love listening to music I am so Indecisive 😂.   I think African teenagers nowadays are very diverse with their sense of style and fashion statements, both girls and boys! Everyone should be able to dress how ever they want to and should feel free of being judged. For what they wear because at the end of the day you only have to please yourself. Do you and stay true to you because there are gonna be haters anyway🤪

"Meet Beauty Queen Imani Shagari"

I’m Imani Shagari , a student reading Architecture and I’m one of twenty other children. Coming from a big family has shown me how important supporting other people can be to their growth. I constantly live by the quote “Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.” It motivates me to help and support people without feeling afraid or threatened by their growth. Instead it helps me to see the best in people and that everyone has their own gifts , we just need each other to help show those gifts. As a young black girl, I would encourage other girls just like me to love themselves and also believe that they are beautiful without the beauty standards set up by society and social media.
